Dentons Australia has a fantastic new part-time opportunity (4 days per week) for someone looking to manage the Dentons Research Centre. In this rewarding role, you will be delivering high quality, cost effective legal research services to internal stakeholders aswell as Dentons clients. Your duties will include but not be limited to:
- providing legal and market research services,
- proactively promoting and delivering library and information developments to the practice groups,
- leading research training including educating professional staff and looking for opportunities to add value,
- participating in the Firm's conflict checking procedure,
- liaising with publishers and vendors, reviewing subscriptions, and negotiating to ensure cost effectiveness,
- taking an active role in Research Centre development projects, and
- developing and maintaining clear objectives for the Research Centre.
The successful candidate will use their experience across a range of legal research tools to manage the delivery of accurate information to internal and external clients. This role is available immediately and we invite applications from candidates who have worked in similar roles within the professional or legal services industry.
We are looking for candidates with experience working in a knowledge or library/research role. Experience in the legal environment will be highly regarded. As would someone with 2-4 years of experience working in a legal library environment. Relevant tertiary qualifications and eligibility for professional membership to the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) are essential.
Imperative to the success of this role will be strong knowledge of legal research methodologies and available resources. You will have excellent presentation skills combined with experience and enthusiasm to deliver training. You will be capable of handling complex legal research tasks and have a pro-active, creative and innovative style. Also essential to the role are strong communication skills and the ability to lead in a small team environment.
