Client Development and Growth Manager (Real Estate)

The role 

Support our Real Estate sector group by generating leads and converting opportunities. This is a client-facing role that requires a deep understanding of Australia’s real estate sector and a network of your own contacts that you can leverage to identify and pursue opportunities.

This newly created role will affect the future success of our Australian business. To be successful in this role, the candidate will:

  • Be proactive, strategic and innovative in their approach to business development
  • Leverage their own network and understanding of the real estate sector to identify leads and pursue opportunities
  • Understand how to add value to clients and targets through business development approaches
  • Develop unique selling points to differentiate Dentons
  • Generate demand for the firm’s services and products
  • Demonstrate strong stakeholder management
  • Deliver excellent client service and have strong emotional intelligence

Real Estate is a priority sector for Dentons and includes our property, construction, planning and environment teams.

Business development

  • Identify opportunities to grow revenue from existing clients and to win work from target clients
  • Lead pursuits with partners and lawyers
  • Coach partners and lawyers on business development approaches

Client management

  • Manage a number of the firm’s key clients in the real estate sector
  • Develop and execute client plans to grow revenue across the business
  • Build relationships within clients’ teams to facilitate the identification and conversion of opportunities
  • Undertake client feedback sessions and action priority items


  • Strategically advise in relation to bid/no bid decision, pricing and unique selling points
  • Project manage the production of high quality tenders and pitches
  • Coach partners on tender best practice


  • Identify profiling and media opportunities related to significant deals, market developments, new issues and work with the communications team to execute
  • Develop legal directory and award responses (in particular the articulation of our unique selling point)
  • Assist to maintain key business development tools (tender database, clause bank, deal register etc)
  • Work closely with the communications team to maximise BD opportunities from firm wide campaigns
