About the role:
Dentons Australia has a fantastic opportunity in our Perth office for someone looking to build upon their paralegal career in our busy Recovery and Restructuring practice on a full time permanent basis. In this role you will be acting on behalf of a number of Australia's major banks on recovery and restructuring matters. The work is of a fast paced nature, which will see you having the responsibility of managing a portfolio of files. You will also work alongside lawyers in the team with an emphasis on compliance and quality assurance.
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Full responsibility of file management (from start to finish);
- Preparing legal documents, including statutory notices and court documents;
- Acting as first point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communications via specialised online web-based portal;
- Liaising directly with customers in relation to sensitive financial matters with the aim to come to suitable arrangements;
- Working with lawyers to progress matters through Courts; and
- Assisting on other legal matters, including personal insolvency matters.
What you'll need to succeed:
Prior law firm experience and a determination to excel in a paralegal career is a pre-requisite.
You will be very well organised and have superior drafting skills and attention to detail. In this role, you will handle a large workload and will be required to keep your workload up to date.
Ideally you will have 2+ years of law firm, banking or corporate support experience and will be keen to develop your career as a paralegal.
You will enjoy working in a friendly team environment under supportive partners, with on the job training to help you along the way. You will be self-motivated and driven, with a professional outlook and the ability to deal with sensitive matters.
Applicants with secured or unsecured recoveries experience will be favourably considered.
