Dentons has a fantastic opportunity for a law student to join its highly regarded and complex Banking and Finance team in Perth as a Paralegal.
In this busy practice, Dentons acts on behalf of major banks and financial institutions. The work is of a fast paced nature, which will see you working closely with our banking clients in preparing commercial loan documents and advising on matters regarding commercial lending transactions.
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
- File management
- Liaise with clients
- Preparation of commercial loan documents
- Reviewing commercial agreements and contracts
- Attending settlement for property related matters
This opportunity is an initial 12 month fixed term contract with a view to permanency. There is an opportunity to progress to a graduate solicitor for those that excel in this role.
To be considered for this opportunity you must be a law student working towards completing your law degree in the next 1-2 years.
You have an interest in the Banking & Finance and Real Property Law practice areas. You must be able to work autonomously and as part of a team. You will possess strong organisational skills and be motivated to assist the team in meeting tight deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as legal research skills are essential. You will have a professional manner and the ability to deal with sensitive matters. In addition, a high level of enthusiasm and energy is a must.
Study of banking & finance or real/personal property electives, as well as experience in a bank or legal firm will be highly regarded. This role is also open to working part-time whilst completing your studies. The days can be flexible, aside from Wednesday – minimum 3 days per week.
